Every Season Has A Focus
Whistler's climate is demanding on properties. Each season brings different risks — and different work to keep your home protected.
Snow load builds gradually, ice dams form quietly, and a frozen pipe can cause serious damage before anyone notices. Most Whistler properties sit empty through extreme weather — regular property checks mean small issues can be caught and dealt with before they become costly ones.
Snowmelt puts drainage, foundations, and window seals to the test. Pine needles and debris that have built up over winter block gutters and drainage — a fire risk heading into the drier summer months. In Spring our focus shifts to exterior clean up and assessing any wear that winter has left behind.
The season most people don't think about. Summer heat and humidity cause wood to swell, exterior finishes to age, and pests to find their way in. With careful monitoring, these changes are caught early — prolonging the life of joinery, decks, and fine finishes. Summer is also the best window for maintenance and touch-ups, so your property is looking its best the next time you arrive.
Fall is the last window to get things ready before the snow arrives. Heating systems are checked, chimney servicing is coordinated, and heated driveways are tested to make sure everything is functioning before the first snowfall. Irrigation lines are drained and the property is prepared — so when winter hits, we've done everything we can to minimise surprises.
